Does Mu have the ability to mimic the wordpress.com login gadget?

Considering that wp.com runs on a beefed up version of Mu, I'd say probably. There's a could of regular wp plugins that allow access via mobile devices. You may want to look at one of them. I haven't tested the idea myself though.
