I have seen a very simple/small code to create dynamic drop down menu at
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa218659(office.11).aspx
I tried and it works in IE and FireFox. Haven't tested on others.
It uses table,tr,td structure for the menu options. Uses getElementsByTagName("div")
to replace the class name of TD element.
Now, do you guys see any future/ usability/ extendability problem if I use this and create a pull down MU-ADMIN-BAR? The admin bar that resides at the top of every blog pages.
man, you cited 'front-page'. be ready for the onslaught.
if you get this working, i'm requesting the ability to turn it off for certain pages or even move it without a bunch of fuss. the current admin bar is awesome, but it doesnt look great on every theme. on some themes, i think it would look better beneath the header, IMHO.

Heh. I just kept my mouth shut. lol
Microsloth can stick it, and Ballmer can take a flying leap. (Being "politically correct", if you can't tell.)
But for seriousness on a slightly different topic. I am working on redeveloping the admin bar plugin Jon Breitenbucher. But it's the one that stays static above each blog. Not the backend menu.
