I can't really comment on the code itself to too much degree. I just haven't had the time I've wanted to lately. My father had quintuple (aka 5) bypass surgery a little over a week ago, and it's been pretty hectic on top of an already hectic schedule.

Looking in the db-settings.php file there is function called get_dataset_from_blogid and using add_server hook you can define the server as a partition and give the partition a number.

The get_dataset_from_blogid function never gets called anywhere so it seems to me there is a missing piece to get the partitions working.

I have been successful in adding global servers but not partition servers. I plan on waiting for someone else to post how partitioning works (as I'm sure it does/will) rather than spend too much time on this myself.
