When going into a hosted blog's admin panel to change theme, I get this:
Fatal error: Cannot break/continue 1 level in /home/nathan/xblogs.ca/wp-admin/admin-db.php on line 669

I can change the theme in PHPMyAdmin but I'd rather not have to go there. Thanks.

Have you checked line 669 of admin-db.php in relation to your setup?
