Diffs between the search.php in regular WP and MU? (2 posts)

I'm not super-familiar with PHP (I can do just enough to modify templates and such), but I've run across a small issue at my blog on the Harvard site (see http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/natep).

If you try a search in the search box, the result is a 404 not found error. It seems to me that the differences between the PHP for a "regular" Wordpress and a MU-version theme causes the difference. Could someone offer a brief explanation to help out? I'd like to get that search box working; would it be as simple as dropping in the search.php from an MU-version of the base theme?

    Thanks.

Just for reference, these forums aren't really for wpmu endusers. You should be going through your local admin for questions like these.

Most theme's search.php file work fine with wpmu. I know I haven't done any changes with the themes that I've installed. I do not that you have a dropdown category selector on your search bar though. Five bucks says there's a required plugin to do that that's never been installed or the plugin itself is out of date or doesn't work on wpmu. That drop down selector is not standard wordpress or wpmu and that's probably what the issue is.

    Hope this helps,
