thanks to another member here, my home.php page now shows each updated blog and its descriptions but is it also possible to also show the date each blog was updated? is it possible to show the las few blog entries for each blog under each blogs names? what else can i do with the home.php to make it more unique?

Below is a customized home using the default Kubrick theme...simple, but effective for what I want. On the "List of All Blogs" page, I actually incorporated the blog description based on your question...hadn't thought about it until you mentioned it.

You may want to take a look at the posts in the "Your WordPress MU" where people include links to their Mu sites. You will see some pretty cool customizations there.

Bottom line though...you can start with just about any theme as your site theme and then customize to fit your needs...you don't need to stick with the default Kubrick theme.

I do a fair amount on my old home.php page. I had a list of the most popular blogs updated every hour, a featured blog which was getting the most average page views during the last 24-48 hours, the most popular sitewide tags, etc.

Took a while to code but it looked good in the end.

@drmiketemp do you want to share some code for that?
