There are thieves among us! (4 posts)

I have written articles and have them posted at Ezine. It totally amazes me that there is NO one to complain to when a person has stolen info and not kept any any of the signature intact, like the urls, or the info. No matter what they are still thieves. They can be held accounted for for infringing rites

Here is an example of what they..the thieves are doing:

    http:// [link broken] hienrodriquez.isoscape.com/2007/07/31/college-students-and-a-care-package/

    AND
what is all that garbage at the bottome of the article??????

So, to all you other writers... what do you think of this garbage that is going on??????

(the writer of the article that this person stole!)

    1) Why did you give them a link? You may want to edit your post there to break the link.

    2) It's called a splog. They're common. Most of us delete them on sight as we don't want them either.

    3) Yes, there are people to complain to. Ezine for one. xcalibre.co.uk, the host in question as well. They have a Acceptable use policy on their site. Please be sure to quote from it.

    4) This really isn't a WPMu support question and this really isn't the place to discuss this.

    Imagine that.

I spend probably 10-15 hours a month getting content lifters kicked off their hosts.

It's meaningless, as some asshole always replaces them.

But, at least when you call a host and point out that one of their sites is in violation of their TOS, it sure gets em shut down a lot faster.

I finally added a copyright notice above the content for all my rss articles. If someone actually is approved to list my feed, I add their server IP into an array, so it isn't displayed.

Sure does deter a lot of assholes when all the content they end up "posting" has nothing but a copyright notice in it. lol
