Does anyone know of a working banner management plugin for MU? Ive searched the archives and do not see anything.

Nope. Haven't seen or heard of one.

I was real surprised to find that, considered the custom header thingy is *built in* that there isn't any way to look at previous banner uploads or even delete them without looking on the server.

Are you referring to something like rotating ad banners or something?

One (although initially painful) option would be to run something like OpenAds (openads.org), where you can manage all kinds of ads, create specific groups, and then call those groups (in several ways) from your templates (or through a custom plugin or something).

Then you can manage all ads across your site from one place, etc.

It also allows for adsense and such as well, so you could mix and match if need be.

Granted, that isn't as simple as a WP plugin to do it all, but once it's set up it isn't bad at all.

Plus, it gives full control over ads, etc. Of course, depending on your situation it might be overkill.

It's at least an option to consider unless you're not referring to ads, which would make this post pretty much useless to you.

Yes, I meant a banner ad manager.

The painful part is making want to look for something different ;) Why is that one painful?

It's not painful, really, it just takes time to set it up, add it into themes, etc.
