Hi!
I have installed a version of the WordPress mu and it works great. But I dont want it to create a new set of tables for each new user. Is there a way to configure the system so that the all blogs use the same set of tables?
Best regards,
Erik

No.
Is there a plan to build it with a fixed number of tables? This sulotion does not seem optimal if one get a large number of users.
Yes. I'm working on a fewer tables structure for my WordPress MU installation. It requires quite a bit of overhauling the WordPress MU system for a less tables approach.
We've tried it both ways, this way is far better for large numbers. On WP.com we have over 30k and growing rapidly.
You don't have to take my word for it, try it both ways. Or try something like Drupal which has monolithic tables.
But how do you do if you want to list the most active bloggers or the 10 latest messages on a central webpage? These kind of tasks seems hard to me with this sulution, but I may be wrong.
