Hi, my hosting provider are not quite friendly. They do not allow editing of the httpd.conf file. The DNS wildcard stuff has already been set though. Can I still make WPMU work using the subdomain style?

    Thanks,

Frankly, if they no allow it, then they will likely also not allow running Mu and will kick you off very quickly.

So: find a better host if you want to run MU, there are a few threads on the forum about good hosts. Shared hosts= problems (now or soon), VPS or better = good.

    Cheers, Bike

Yeah, thanks Bike. I think I really should get a better hosting provider.

Right now I'm running it with the subfolder style. I guess I shall stick with this for the meantime.

That still won't work as wpmu will be unable to see any of your uploads in their subdirectories.

    theapparatus, can you clarify?
Subdirectory style WPMU setup seems to work so far. No problems with uploads, but no subdirectory gets created for the users. I see db records and uploads are put in a form:
