    hey guys,

I know we have several threads here about caching, built in object cache, wp-cache, super cache, php optimizers like eaccelerator x-cache, etc.

now there are two new plugins on the market tying wp directly to the php optimizers.

this is just a hint in case you did not notice the release of these plugins: http://neosmart.net/blog/2007/xcache-and-eaccelerator-plugins-for-wordpress/

I had a crack with the eAccellerator plugin but didn't have a lot of joy (i.e. didn't appear to do much) but I was hardly thorough, so would be interested in others take.

I tried it (eAccellerator) on my test system and threw a few hundred requests at it in quick succession and I have to say I didn't seem to see any noticeable difference.

I have a question - I can't see any difference after activating the eaccelerator plugin, so I am wondering if I did it right.

The guys on the plugins page, gave this advice:

variable caching is not enabled in your eAccelerator setup

but after studying the eaccelerator config page: http://eaccelerator.net/wiki/CompileConfiguration%C2%A0 I can't find anythign related to variable cache. can anyone clarify this maybe for me? see my comments here: http://neosmart.net/blog/2007/xcache-and-eaccelerator-plugins-for-wordpress/
