WordPress MU

I just saw this at the moment on the homepage of WPMUDEV and the project page

Is that WPMU really bad at catching spams?

Actually I believe wpmudev is run on a regular wordpress platform. Neither wordpress or mu have any built in spam protection actually.

I sent Andrew an email about. He usually checks every day though.

Unfortunately the spam you see on wpmudev is from people who are manually signing up and adding the spam projects. I seriously doubt a captcha would deter them. There's not really anything else that I can do that wouldn't affect legit users.

However, like the theapparatus said, I check wpmudev daily and in most cases several times a day. So spam won't last long if it does show up.

Considering how many times a day that site gets hit, having one or two shop up is really really tiny.
