Initially I thought creating a Blog for my family, which is pretty big and spread out across the world, would of been fun and creative way for them all to keep touch. I don't keep up on the family politics but apparently there are concerns because some family members may not want certain members to have access and read their blogs, let alone view their galleries of pictures.
Initially Wordpress-MU looked like a great option. It allowed me to set up the initial set-ups and automated the process of their creation of blogs. This let them customize their blogs and set them up, post, upload without the need for me to set them up individually. Also if there was an update, I would just need to update WPMU and not have to update a bunch of individual Wordpress installations.
However there are concerns and I'm not sure now if Wordpress or Wordpress-MU would work.
1. Is there a way to limit what users see within WP? For example suscribers approved by them could view their private posts but users not logged in and even those logged in but not approved suscribers couldn't view them.
2. There doesn't appear to be an integrated gallery solution that will work for any of the situations. At least not a module one that will let me choose which users can view what (only tested NextGen and G2 galleries). Is there one I haven't seen that might meet those needs that would work with conjuction of WP?
