Hi,
In order to create a community, is it possible to have the same account for all registered users (for comments, profile and more) on several multiple blogs drived by different editors ?
My wish is to build a portal, with several plugins with infos from other blogs (latest posts, latest comments) and plugin of profile for registered users on all these blogs.
I tried to find an answer on this forum but I did not find the exact answer.
Thanks for your answer
Chris
In WPMU, there is only 1 global user database table. That person can have varying permissions to individual blogs but retains the same Profile data across the blogs. For example, the user's name will always be the same no matter what blog he or she has rights to whether it be author or admin. Does this help?
I have a question somewhat related to this. I am building a community website using Mu, different blog is a different part of the site. I would like to have users register in order to post comments ect. It will just be one site, I will not allow users to get there own blogs ect, is there a way to have them log in on the main page and as they browse the site(blogs) they would stay logged in so if the were in section 1 site/ and went to site/blog 1 they would be able to post to something there with out having to log back in?
That is what happens by default yes as long as they are all on the same domain. If you have multiple domains, they will have to login on each domain, but use the same login and password information. If I login at http://mysite.com and then go to:
http://mysite.com/blog1
http://mysite.com/blog2
http://mysite.com/blog3
I will be able to leave comments as I am still logged in. That is how my site acts.

Trent, Thanks alot for the quick response, I am planning out the site and that was one thing i wanted to check off my list before starting the design phase.
