WordPress MU

I am looking to change the default "Hello World" blog post with all new blogs to something a little more fitting for my site. As well I want to change the test comment from Mr. Wordpress to a welcome comment for me, the admin. Oh and the default blogroll links. I realize this would probably take hacking the source, I just need to know what file to look in so I don't have to go searching myself.

Appears you may want to spend some time with the software as well. This, along with some other of your threads, show that you haven't looked at the Site Asmin tab on the backend.

Seriously the search tool is not perfect, in fact, is rather useless, I search something and it comes back with unrelated threads....honestly I'd probably have better luck searching the source files fot the code that makes new blogs than I would finding a useful post here with the search function.

And I HAVE looked at the site admin tab, it's not verry impressive.

Not to be rude, although it may seem that way, but for the "knowledge" you keep reminding folks you have, folks with far less understood/comprehended it.

That search link I gave works fine, if you search for the right keywords. If you use the search box at the top of every page, that doesn't work too well. Although the big sticky post on the front page mentions that.

wel as far as the search, thats was my mistake assuming your link was the same thing as the one on the top of the page but yeah, thanks for your help. As far as "knowledge" I can run a web server fine, just don't expect me to be able to do any PHP editing easy, as I know verry little of that.

It's cool. Just remember you're in a more advanced product area, and folks around here tend to have a little higher expectations of fellow users then on something like the single user WP forums. Things like reading the sticky on the front page, using the search tool to keep down on massively repeated questions, knowing how to use WP, etc.

You'll get the hang of it. Just play with it, and look around.

The Site Admin tab in the menus has something like 5 sub-menu items. one of them has a place where - get this - you can change default options!

Well only the initial post for new blogs. But what about the inital comment and defualt blogroll?

It's all in queries inside wpmu-functions.php
