I've just upgraded WP MU 1.2.1 to 1.3.3 and discovered that the version number that appears with the "W" logo at the bottom is missing in 1.3.3.
In 1.2.1, the version displays at the bottom and it helps to know what version you are running and after upgrade, etc. I know I just upgraded to 1.3.3 but there are other administrators beside myself.
Just a minor inconvenient, not unless the version number appears somewhere that I totally forgot to view?
nope, they took it out of there.
The version number is still in a file somewhere though. I just can't quite remember which one ATM. :D

Thanks, it's there in wp-includes/version.php. The version# should not have been remove in the first place and should be in the SiteAdmin or somewhere via the web. (just a thought)

Suggestions need to go here:
http://trac.mu.wordpress.org
edit: You can see the changes here if you want to change back:
wp-footer.php
wp-admin.css
Feel free to bring it up in trac. :)

Honestly, unless it's somewhere under site admin, it shouldn't be listed to prying eyes.

I edited my post up there to show where the changes occurred.
Agreed with luna. It's a security risk.
Which is why it was taken out... yes?

*shrug* There was a regular trac ticket on the subject way back when where it was suggested that it be removed that was met with a whole lot of resistance. It is a suggestion on the codex though.
