we are setting up a multi-user, multi-blog and we started to experiment with wordpress. It seems that the WordPress-mu version is multi-user, but not really multi-blog. It is really about setting up several users to the same blog.
My question is - am I right?
What do I mean by multi-blog?
a. For example, in wordpress.com, every user can have its own theme. Is that possible in wpmu?
b. In wordpress.com, once I registered to have my own blog, my dashboard is with my own blog's name. In wpmu, every new user have the dashboard titled with the same blog name.
can I have that in WPMU?
that's what I meant by multi-blog.
In addition, I have several questions related to that:
1. I wondered what happens when a new blog is created at WP? does all the tables get created on the fly?
2. If so, how can they search across multiple blogs? (I didn't see a free search, but saw tags search accross multiple blogs)
3. I need to develop social-network features between users (i.e. friendships) Is there any wp plugin or any other open source platform you guys would recommend?
