So I see that the new Wordpress 2.5.1 has some critical fixes. Time to upgrade. But how? Can I upgrade to the latest wordpress separately, or must I wait for a Wordpress MU package that includes the new wordpress sources?

And how can I see what version I am actually running? Shouldn't that be visible in some admin panel?

    Best regards, Gigante.

Wait for the release of WP 1.5 that is the equivalent to WP 2.5 since they are not the same thing.

I have been looking around for an answer to this question, but have not found it - apologies if I've missed something.

Is MU 1.3.3 (2.3.3) vulnerable to the issues addressed by 2.5.1? If so, is there a fix or workaround short of waiting for 1.5?

    Thanks.

As a followup to my previous post, are the three files mentioned in this post suitable to install over the top of 1.3.3?

If I were a betting man I'd say we'll be getting WPMU 1.5.1 either instead of a 1.5 or right after 1.5.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

    It has already been done:
    http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/changeset/1266

+ download link for new version:
    http://trac.mu.wordpress.org/changeset/1266/tags/1.5-rc1?old_path=%2F&format=zip

Note that it is a development snapshot which might prove to be more bugged than 1.5RC1, despite 1253-1266 changes being mostly cleanup and minor bugfixes.

Thank you andrew and c2h5oh. But I'm really trying to determine how to address my 1.3.3 installation (this is the most recent release AFAICT).

Is it vulnerable? Can it be patched? Do I need to jump to a development snapshot immediately?

    Thanks!

Sorry, I meant to say that 1.3.3 is the most recent official release (as far as I can tell).

Looks like regular wordpress is already on track for 2.5.2:

It's my understanding that the biggest security breach that neccessitated 2.5.1 was unapplicable for MU. Just because of the area it affected.
