anyone else has faced this problem i have a cvs version of mu running and the add media option works fine for the pages but for posts it does not work at all

You have allowed for the filetype extension in Dashboard -> Site Admin -> Options, right?

No problems for me either. It has worked fine for me since the first 1.5 RC.
