(I also posed this in the thread that started this mess, here: http://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic.php?id=8374)
WP-Super Cache crashed my site. I am completely screwed here.
I installed it, activated it and started getting server error messages.
I following the uninstall instructions. All filed are gone. The .htaccess file has been cleansed of the files. I've taken the case command out of wp-config.php
I am not getting that firefox error telling me the page is trying to perform a redirect that will not work. Help.
you've got a bad or corrupted file there now.
Yeah. My host is doing a backup available from the 25th of this month. I have a database backup that's just 36 hours old or so.
This is just another bad experience with super cache. However, I'm still happy with it because I could hack it sometimes.
binh: "This is just another bad experience with super cache ..."
Dude, you are the guy who said I need to be using it.
;-)
Anyway, I'm back up and running and considering my options. One of which is setting up a VPS, the other is sweet talkign some local hosting company into running the site on a dedicated server. Yeah. Wish me luck.
Most of the time it just requires removing the files and then deleting the contents of /wp-content/cache/. It doesn't install anything that would corrupt files or the site, so it seems a little confusing :) Sorry to hear that!

Heh. Turned out I edited a file with Word and uploaded it (he said, smiling sheepishly and he slunk out of the room)
At least you found it. :D
