I´ve installed WPMU 1.5.1 with no changes/plugins regarding the Editor tinyMCE so far.
In the Admin section:
- opening editor Window for new posts requires 10-15 sec
- saving new posts requires 15-40 sec
and my hosting provider insists that server performance is well.
Is there anything I can do to improve performance / response times ?

Get hold of Firebug for firefox (getfirebug.com) and use that to see what files are slowing down the load. This may help identify the problem.
Try a the Google ajax plugin (by me) that offloads the jquery and other libraries to googles faster servers. Available here:

Hi cafespain!
Many thanks for your response.
I´ve now monitored the saving of a post with Firebugs.
Firebugs shows in "Net"-View 32 requests and a total duration of 5.54 sec for this transaction. BUT with my watch I stopped a total time of approx 17 sec until the last request was displayed on the Firebugs-Screen.
(Screen Firebugs - see here: http://wandertipp.at/testuser7/files/2008/07/firebug_post_save.jpg)
What are the 11 sec. not included in the Firebugs measurement? (Regretably I´m quite new to operating a website, so probably it´s a dumb question.)
Any ideas?
Kind regards,
Andreas
