I'm not speaking in an official capacity whatsoever but I think it might be a month or two (or longer) before much is done to wpmu. Automattic is most likely going to have their hands full throwing hardware and upgrades to handle scaling at wp.com and akismet.
'compete' with typepad... morelike let them quietly skulk off ;)
Agreed, good news for AM and even better news for the VCs who've got in.
