When I used a test user on upgrading version 1.3 to 1.5.1 wordpress mu to edit a post, I got one of those standard error page such as 404 and so on. But when I check the post out, the test post actually got updated. It's annoying for members on my website to see error page instead of a page says your post has been updated. Please help me troubleshoot this error. thanks...

As noted first thing you should be checking is your error logs. "one of those standard error page" doesn't get very far. There's a specific error that has occurred. Could you please check to see what that specific error is?
Please remember that you're the one in position to do the debugging. We can't help much unless you give us specifics and tell us what is occurring.
