I am trying to delete or rename .htaccess file in the folder of /public_html. But nothing happened even though cPanel showed it's done. I tried FTP and "dele .htaccess". No success.

    Any idea? Thanks

    Hi,

You can use an FTP program called SecureFX.
In the menu it has an option to "View" "Dot Files".
Once you enable this feature, the .htaccess will
be displayed and then you will be able to delete it.

CPanel does not delete it. At least not for me.

You may need to change the CHMOD of .htaccess before deleting it through cPanel. I think there was a thread in this forum on this once.

chmod didn't help. I used SecureFX as mentioned by arlob. I saw the file get removed from SecureFX. But once I refresh cPanel, it appeared again. I am still playing with it.
