WordPress MU

hello

i have tried to install wordpress newest version on a subdirectory of my site that works fine but when i try to install on the root directory it shows erroer that .htcesses file exist.you can sea erroer at http://www.blogsmine.com
i have delelted that file but still it is showing the same erroer dont know what to do?can anybody help me in this matter?

ya i have figured out that problem but now getting a new problem as i am not getting installation confirmation email
and unable to login with the user name and password which is shown on ending of installation. i think first i need to activate it from email but not getting email. what to do?can anybody help me out this problem.

but i got confirmation emails,user joining emails and everything.that is working fine but i am getting problem in the root directory of http://www.blogsmine.com

When you first install and it shows you the admin username and password, it works *right away*.

If it doesn't then please try re-installing. you don't have to wait for the email.

Also, do not put the www in the address when you install it.

You may also wish to review your error logs as well. It could be that mail from the root domain was rejected on the receiving end, or perhaps a local configuration problem.

i dont know how to check erroer logs please tell me about that.i have trid to login with the username and password shown on ending of installation but it says "wrong password" what to do?

In PHPMyAdmin, browse the contents of the wp_users table (looking at the content of the rows not the structure of the table).

Edit the row for the user ("admin" or whomever).

The "user_pass" field value will be the MD5 hash of the password. Delete the hash and type in your temporary password e.g. apple2008 then (important!) from the 'Function' dropdown list select "MD5". Now, click on "Go" to have PHPMyAdmin apply the MD5 function to the plaintext value apple2008

You should now be able to login via wp-admin using the apple2008 password. Obviously, change the apple2008 password immediately, especially since it has been pasted here!
