Root files disappeared (3 posts)

Ok, I searched the forums and can't find anything like this, so I'm going to post and hopefully not be crucified :)

I am testing out Mu before designing a site around it and I got everything working properly late last night on the domain ikin.org

I set up ikin.org and 3 subdomain blogs, added users and gave them different privileges across different blogs and everything was looking very positive.

Then, first thing this morning, I go to ikin.org and just get a directory listing of the root folder with only the folders, no files. To clarify, the wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes folders were all there, but none of the other root files, including index.php. I FTP'd in and found the same thing.

When I try to go to wp-admin, I get the error message stating that the include.once of /wp-load.php failed (obviously because the file does not exist).

Does anyone know why this may have happened?

    Thanks in advance,
    Adam

Bad permissions, like leaving your site root at 777 after install would do it.

Then again, it could have been a number of things. Best to ask your host about it.

Alright, I reinstalled and chmod the root back to 755. We'll see if the files decide to stick around this time.

Thanks very much for the help.
