Urls should point to your tags blog first:

So widget url will be

http://tags.domain.com/tag/linux/

or if non-vhosts

http://domain.com/tags/tag/linux/

(with vhost) yes is tags.domain.com/tag/linux

If the post shows up in the tags blog and the widget it should work. Do you have a real link I can see for myself?

There is an issue with WPMU and permalinks to blog 1.(adds a "/blog" which interferes with pretty permalinks)

Try permalinks on default (?=123) on blog 1 if you really need the tagcloud on blog 1.

I had this same issue with the sitewide tag cloud, indeed setting the permalink to the default (?=123) where the cloud is displayed seems to be the cure. Does anybody know of a way of using other permalinks with this tag cloud plugin?
